Signs of the Last Hour - Ya'jooj Ma'jooj

Ya'jooj Ma'jooj (Gog Megog)

Allah (swt) created a nation called Ya'jooj and Ma'jooj. In the beginning they were free. Zulqarnian Sealed them with a barrier. They are still sealed today, and will be freed near the Day of Judgement. They will come out and create a lot of mischief and trouble on the earth. Their population is greater than the world's population.

As we know Zulqarnain travelled from East to West and North to South. Until, when he reached between two mountains. He found near the two mountains a people who scarcely understood a word. The people said to him, "In between these mountains, there is a nation called Ya'jooj Ma'jooj, who are doing great mischief in the land. We will pay you a tribute in order that you might erect a barrier between us them." Zulqarnain said, "That (wealth, authority and power) in which my Lord had established me is better (than your tribute). What I would like is that you can help me by bringing me strength (of men), pieces of iron." When they brought these things, Zulqarnain started to build the barrier (by filling up the gap bewteen the two mountain-cliffs). After this, he started to blow on it. When it became red-hot, he said, "Bring molten copper." He poured this liquid copper on the wall and made it very strong. Then he said, "This is a mercy from my Lord, but when the Promise of my Lord comes, He shall level it to the ground."

To this day the Ya'jooj Ma'jooj are trapped behind this barrier (wall). They have wide faces like shield, small eyes, suhb (blondness or redness in their hair) and progeny of Adam (as). [Ahmad]

Everyday, they try to break this wall. When they see rays of the sun, the wall is as thin as a sheet of paper. Their leader says, "Return. Leave it. We will come tomorrow and break it down." When they come the next day, with God's will, the wall is as solid as before. Everyday, that is what they do, but when it is time for them to come out, then that day they will try to break that wall but when they see rays of the sun, the wall will be as thin as a page. The leader will say, "Leave it for today and says the words Inshallah (if it is Allah wills) we will finish it tomorrow." When they come the next day, they will see that the wall is as thin as a page and then they will break the wall and come out (This will be the time when Hazrat Isa (alayhi salaam) will be ruling the world. Allah will order Hazrat Isa (as) to take all his followers to the mountain.). [Ahmad]

Until, when Ya'jooj Ma'jooj are let loose from the barrier (wall), they will swoop down from every mound and destroy everything in its path. They will drink the water of the earth. One of them will pass by a river and say, "There use to be time when there was water here." People will be scared and will hide (city or fortress). When Ya'jooj Ma'jooj don't see a person on earth they will say, "We have finished all the inhabitants on earth now we will finish the inhabitants in the sky." They will shoot arrows towards the sky. Allah will make their arrows dyed in blood and send them back, and then they will be happy and say " That we have killed the inhabitants in the sky also". At that time, Prophet Isa (as) will be on the mountain. Prophet Isa (as) and the other Muslims will pray to Allah (swt),"Oh Allah! Save us from them." [Ahmad]

Allah (swt) will listen to their prayers and send a disease in their necks of Ya'jooj Ma'jooj, like Naghafan (a kind of worm) which go into their necks. With that, they will all die like the death of a single soul, and not a sound will be heard from them. Then Prophet Isa (as) and the Muslims will come down from the mountain, they will see that all the ground is covered with bodies and a dirty smell will be spreading. They will pray to Allah, "Oh Allah! Save us from this dirty smell." Allah (swt) will send birds whose necks are like bukht (camels with long neck). They will take all the bodies and throw them (the decaying corpses) where ever Allah wills. After this, Allah will send rain. With this, all the ground will be like Zalafah (mirror, indicating that the entire earth will be washed clean). [Ahmad]

Then Prophet Isa (as) with his people will stay on the ground. Allah (swt) will send blessings in everything. There will be so much blessing that one pomegranate will be enough for one group, and one pomegranate's peel will make one big tent enough for a group of people to stay under. [Ahmad]

Hazrat Isa (as) will stay in the world for forty years [Ahmad and Abu Daawood]. After forty years, he will die and be buried in the Prophet Muhammad tomb. After Hazrat Isa (as), there will be a king called Jahaj from the clan of Qahtan . After him, there will be several kings, and then virtues and good acts will begin to decrease and unmorality and vices will be on the increase. That will be the time when the houses start to sink.
